March 2013
Councillor Wall
That the council upgrade the Maganey Road, Castledermot.
Reply: Work on this road is dependant on finances being available. Finance is being sought to overlay the section of road adjacent to the GAA grounds.

Councillor Wall
That the council solve the flooding issue at Newtown Pillsworth, Maganey.
Reply: This is on the area office list of drainage jobs to be carried out.

Councillor Wall
Can the council confirm the up-to-date position with the graveyard extension at Ballybracken, Kildangan?
Reply: The final proposed layout has been prepared and is currently being examined by an official from the Health Service Executive for approval.
Approval by the HSE will allow the project to progress to the commencement of the required Part VIII procedure.

. Councillor Wall
That the council work with the Ballymore Eustace Community Development Association and community alert scheme regarding the possibility of CCTV cameras where possible in the village.
Reply: This matter will be referred to the sub-groups, c of the Joint Policing Committee dealing with community alert schemes for consideration. In addition, Conor O’Leary is the Community Alert Development Officer for the Kildare Area, employed by Muintir na Tir and Garda Siochana. His role is to work with Community alert groups to enable them to develop their existing group or for areas to set up new community alert groups.

Councillor Wall
That the council confirm the up-to-date position with the Housing Adaption and Housing Aid Grants.
Reply: The Capital allocation of €1,620,000 for the above schemes was announced on 1st March 2013. This allocation is dependent on Kildare County Council identifying matching funding of €405,000 and this amount has been identified in the 2013 Revenue Budget. Staff in this area have been temporarily redeployed to cover another critical area in Housing. This situation will be resolved by mid April and work will re-commence on the grants. Applications will be prioritised on the basis of medical need. It will not be possible to re-open the Housing Aid for Older Person scheme in light of this allocation. The commitment given at an earlier meeting to examine the small numbers which have already been inspected will be honoured and a determination will be made in the context of the funding being available. It is also intended to contact those applicants whose applications are on hold and will not now receive funding in 2013.
