Car Park, Kildangan
The Kildare/Newbridge Municipal District Engineer reports that a survey of the area is complete. Currently a preliminary design is being prepared which will allow discussions to be undertaken with key stakeholders. An initial design will be available by Friday 14th November 2014.
Insulation in local authority houses in the Athy area
In addition to the schedule of works completed up until the end of October 2014 the following work is underway/planned for 2014 in the Athy MD Area.:
28 houses currently on site in Ballyroe, Athy. Houses surveyed and works being prepared for tender also include approx 20. dwellings in Athy Rural Areas including Kilberry, and approx 15-20 in Castleroe West,Magney. Note that energy upgrade works were already completed to houses in William Pierce Terrace, Castledermot based on their year of construction.
Update on kildare county council social housing building programme
That the council confirm if they have contacted the Department of Environment,Community and Local Government about the possibility of building local authority houses in the Athy Municipal District and if they have submitted plans for houses outside of the district in other parts of the county.
Report : The Housing Department are in constant contact with officials in the Department of Environment, Community and Local Government in respect of the delivery of social housing throughout the county. The Council has received approval for the delivery of 20 units in Kilcock and has identified a number of sites throughout the county, including the Athy Municipal District, with the potential to deliver further social housing directly or in conjunction with approved housing bodies. The Council continues to work with landlords through the Rental Accommodation Scheme and approved housing bodies through the Social Housing Leasing Initiative and with private developers in respect of the delivery of units through Part V of the Planning and Development Act. The delivery of units is dependant on capital funding from the Department of Environment.
Athy skateboard Park
Can the council confirm the up-to-date position with the skateboard park for the town
Report: Work commenced on the skate park for Athy on the 10th November. Construction of the facility is expected to be complete in 6 weeks subject to weather conditions.
That the council confirm their plans for the care of the water services within the town of Athy following the dissolution of Athy Town Council.
Report I am assured that sanction will be forthcoming from Irish Water regarding the filling of the Water Caretaker position.
